Are you a resident of Creggan, past or present? Are you old enough to remember going for a swim in the Creggan reservoir? Did you fish in the Creggan Burn? Meet your childhood sweetheart at the ‘resy’? If so, Creggan Country Park wants to hear your story.
The park is hosting a social evening at 7pm on 27 July 2007 in conjunction with the Gasyard Féile at the Creggan Country Inn. The theme will be ‘Talking History’ and the organisers want as many participants as possible to come along and share their memories of the site and Creggan in general. Material will be recorded on the night to aid the production of learning materials on the sites heritage, which will be an invaluable resource for future generations studying the history of the area.
Participants can also avail of the Creggan Country Inn bar and restaurant which will be open throughout the event. Music will be provided on the night by Dee and Friends, a group of Derry’s leading traditional musicians. The event is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and admission is free.
Derry Féile takes place from 21 to 29 July across the city.
